Problem #1 is you are wanting to jump 10 lbs for progression. Thats way too much for bench press. Need to get 2.5 lb plates so you can increase by 5 lbs

I would add in weighted chest dips to boost your strength and progress on bench. If your gym doesnt have a dip belt, buy one

My bench is weak as well (just started doing strength training), however, I find benching in the power rack helps, because you don't have to worry about having a spotter

Maybe it was a mental thing. Just did 200 for 3x8 with very nice looking reps. Feeling pretty good, brehs :krs:

Progress is happening

bench at 200x3x8
deadlift 245x3x8
squat 265x3x8

let's not talk about shoulder press right now :to:

I'm on a deconstruct/construct type mission with my chest, especially since my bum shoulder has been affecting some of my lifts. I've been thinking about going down to 135 and focusing on strict form then moving up incrementally from there. Thoughts?

Set up a bench in the power cage and put the safety bars right at chest level

Use resistance bands or chains on the bar if you're going to drop weight to focus on form.
