Signed up for Ancestry.com last month. Did the DNA test, and got my results earlier this month. 22% Nigeria, 21% Ghana/Ivory Coast, 9% Benin/Togo. I did all of this, because I'm interested in possibly gaining Benin citizenship. I think all of us need to seriously consider creating an exit strategy from the US as soon as possible - somewhere to flee to and stay for as long as possible with zero visa/administrative complications. Just in case. I don't think there's any question that these next 2-5yrs arer going to be fukking wild. Not just here, but worldwide.

Plan on taking an investigative trip to Benin as soon as I can.

If the forum is still up, and we're all here, would like to see you update this thread with how it all goes.

How close are you to the big metro area of your state? There are a few Africa-town sections in the different big cities. Bound to be a Beninese and or Francophone African business presence in those places. That's a very good starting point for info and learning a bit more about the people/culture.

This doesn't actually work in practice. I was watching a seminar between mo ibraham and Dangote from earlier this year where he described that despite having both Visa free access to Benin as a Nigerian under this scheme and as a holder of the new African Union passport, He was still required to get a visa when going in. If Dangite as a whole billionaire still has problems Entering a country so close to his own country Then I'm doubtful the transition is seamless for residents of the other countries on the continent.

Have any African brehs from the coli with an African passport attempted A trip to benin yet? :lupe:

It seems like one of the paper laws which is written without an enforcement plan. It's similar to the tariff free trading agreements which are also not enforced for sadac or ecowas causing massive backups at border checkpoints. I think the EAC does a little bit better on regional integration.

Will do. In case the forum is offline, here are my socials:

Nostr npub: npub1vrte73vdykqt45lz6jejq72eaca0nucym63yyr4yauay560xmkzsjkakqv

^ Nostr is a decentralized "social media platform" (it's almost a whole new internet). There's different ways or clients you can use to access it. These are the most popular Nostr clients: Yakihonne, Damus (for iOS only), Amethyst, Primal. One cool thing about Nostr is that in addition to giving posts "upvotes" using whatever emoji you want, you can "zap" posts or send the poster a little bitcoin.

Quick Nostr tutorial:

For simplicity sake, just copy that npub string, paste it into search using Yakihonne, and you'll see my profile come up right away. What my profile looks like:

That's a really good idea about trying to connect with the nearest Beninese or west African community. I didn't even think about that.
