So I was having a conversation on some of the lawyers who seem to have worked cases involving high profile black trials. I’m not a lawyer or familiar with any of that by any means. I know some of you all are familiar with this realm and have done more research.

But I was told that Benjamin Crump is a far better lawyer than Johnnie Cochran was. Is this true? Is there someone recently who is better that I’m not familiar with? I thought it was borderline disrespectful to compare the 2.

If you had to have a lawyer represent you in a criminal case who would you choose out there? If you had a civil rights case who would you choose out there?

if i ever had a case i would hope for it to be lowkey and less tragic so hopefully i wouldn't need a high profile lawyer. there are tons of lawyers who can do what these guys do/did without the attention

two fine legal minds no doubt though

Does Crump actually argue cases? I dont think ive ever seen this guy in a courtroom. :ohhh:

Seems like he just drums up attention to get his clients the largest check he can.

Usually now it seems like law offices have teams. They have a spokesperson type of figurehead and other lawyers that actually work the cases.

aside from pretrial hearings, the whole point of a civil lawsuit is to get compensation. So basically, the whole point is to quickly settle. On the other hand if the client didn't want to settle, no attorney can accept a settlement without permission and they would have to go to trial.

Cochran and it’s not even close. Cochran was suing the fukk out of police departments and forcing settlements without giant press conferences. The threat of Cochran whooping your ass in trial was very real. Crump creates media pressure.

crump is like 55 years old, do you really think he just got trayvon martin case suddenly out of nowhere while practically being unknown without trial experience? he clearly built a reputation lol. another case of "if media didn't tell me about it, it doesn't exist" :mjlol:

smack whoever said that to you, and never allow their abject stupidity to darken your life again

Ben Crump is a mushmouth hype man who has made a name for himself by traveling the country to draw media attention to wrongful injury and death cases and police brutality cases and get settlements. I have no doubt that if he didn't exist, someone else would fill his role.

Johnnie Cochran was a masterful once in a lifetime trial attorney who spent his entire life fighting for his community, he was a leader amongst legal giants, one of the best you'll ever see in a courtroom
