I guess the question comes down to whether to vote for a candidate that does not address the elephant in the room (racism) or other candidates whom also do not really address address the elephant in the room, but do so without really making racially insensitive remarks while not doing so..
I use to be on the “wtf are TANGIBLES” line of thinking, but the more I think about it and hear new reasoning, I am starting to feel that the “all ships rise together” line is pandering BULLshyt

M4A, free college, raising the minimum wage will help all people including Black people/PoC. Bernie being inarticulate when talking to minorities or about race or trying to get people on the right to vote for him doesn't change that.

The way people act like racism isn't present all across the political spectrum is amazing to me. Those who insist the standard Democrat is the wokest of the woke (rhetorically not their actual record) while being inadequate of tackling the issues of today are especially ridiculous. Just because class solidarity is so alien to Americans today (purposefully done so by both parties) doesn't mean it's not valuable. If there is no class solidarity, then guess what? The racism you strongly care about will go nowhere and get worse. How the hell do you imagine anything ever changing? Must want a whole lot of more disaffected apathetic voters. A good way to go straight to fascism. If you can't ever advocate for and practice class solidarity, then you might be as blackpilled as Clarence Thomas.

It's not to ignore everyone else as well dumbass. And that's not why he lost in 2016 in the south. And just cuz Bernie can fukk up and say dumb ignorant stuff doesn't make trying to get their vote wrong. Perhaps he's naive a lot about race but that doesn't mean there isn't good reason for a lot of people to feel like neither party has done shyt for them.

Your plan for places like Mississippi is to never try.

Am I missing something, or have Warren and Bernie not come out in favor of BLM and shoring up the VRA and so on?

If the problem is that neither of them will commit to reparations, what candidate will? And in what world is Biden a better president for African Americans than candidates that are more left? That's where I'm confused.

bernie has by far the best criminal justice reform plan, including letting minorities who were most affected by the war on drug, make the money when weed becomes legal nationwide. but nah vote for biden or some establishment shill that wont do shyt. this is why i cant take dudes arguments seriously because theyre disingenous. they just want their corporate candidate to win and they dont catre what they have to say to do it. if biden fails and bootyjudge becomes the new centrist candidate you will have nap defending that racist scum and acting like what hes actually done policy wise with his racist PD is nothing. but bernie being slightly insenstive is why we should cut off our nose to spite our face.

also someone mentioned about lifting all tides. who do you think would benefit the most right now from all these universal programs? minorities and thats always been true. the lifting all boats scam is trickle down economics. not universal health care and education

racism is NEVER a factor in Bernie's eyes. NEVER.
Whoever "Jose" on Twitter is, he's full of shyt.

I mean watch that shyt. How many candidates in all American history have made ANYTHING that compares to that? Jose is so full of shyt.

Bernie Sanders said Sunday he sees racial injustice as a major problem, just one week after arguing on stage with "Black Lives Matter" protesters at a liberal gathering.

"I've been involved in the civil rights movement all of my life, and I believe that we have to deal with this issue of institutional racism."

Sanders, a Vermont senator, pointed to Martin Luther King, Jr., saying the civil rights leader "understood and was working on a poor people's march" when he was assassinated. He pointed to soaring unemployment figures for young African-Americans, and blamed an "unsustainable level of income and wealth inequality."

The former Democratic presidential hopeful received a warm reception from supporters and activists at the packed Million Dollar Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday evening as he heartily criticized a “broken system” that disproportionately jails African Americans, Latinos and Native Americans.

Activist Shaun King didn’t mince words when introducing Sanders, alluding to the senator's political ambitions and touting Sanders’ history of support for the civil rights movement. Sanders led the first-known sit-ins in Chicago, King said, fighting segregated housing and oppressive education practices.

"What it means is that we are all sick and tired of seeing unarmed people shot by police officers," Sanders said. "That young people in African-American communities are harassed by police officers, where police departments are not there to be supportive but are in many cases oppressive, and that's an issue that has to be addressed."

Bernie Sanders says Trump is "racist president"

"We've got to get rid of Donald Trump obviously because Donald Trump is an overt racist."

"Obviously, we need to end all forms of racism in this country from Donald Trump down to the local police department," Sanders answered, before explaining how resources should be allocated to ensuring that more people of color get proper education and job training. "If a police officer kills somebody, that killing must be investigated by the United States Department of Justice," he added.

"I think that many people now understand that most of the people in Congress and certainly this President-who is a racist and a xenophobe and a sexist and a religious bigot-that right now I think most people understand that Washington, D.C., is not there to represent ordinary Americans, but is there to represent wealthy campaign contributors."

"We have a president who is, in fact, a racist and a bigot," Sanders said. "I wish I did not have to say it."

"There is no excuse for white families to own 10 times more wealth than black families," Sanders said.

Bernie Sanders said the United States was founded on “racist principles” during a speech at Liberty University on Monday. The senator from Vermont and Democratic presidential candidate referred to incidents of police shooting unarmed black men as examples of continued institutionalized racism. “We have got to stand up and say, in America you’re not going to do that. Racism is unacceptable,” he said.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders told a group of people Saturday that if elected president in 2020, he will "go to war" with white nationalism and racism. Sanders said he would use every tool at his disposal, including executive orders.

Speaking to a crowd of mostly African Americans at the Young Leaders Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, Sanders described his family background as being Jewish and from Poland.

"My father's whole family was wiped out by Hitler and his white nationalism," said Sanders, who is one of many Democratic presidential hopefuls in 2020. "Too many people have fought over the years, too many people have died against racism to let it resurface and flourish in America."

Then he made his declaration.

"We will go to war against white nationalism and racism in every aspect of our lives," he said.

Sanders told the crowd that whenever someone hurts or kills someone because of their skin color, that's it's "not just a hate crime," but that it is also "domestic terrorism."

He said that if such attacks are carried out in America, then "we're gonna throw the full force of the law against those people."

"And when we combat white nationalism and when we combat racism, we are gonna use all the laws in our power, including executive orders in every area to make certain that we end the discrimination which now exists in heatlh care, where black women are dying three times the rate of white women when they give birth," Sanders said.

Sanders added he will end "redlining" in housing discrimination and "end the absurdity of black kids leaving school much more deeply in debt than white kids."

Bernie doesn't want to say that 90% of voters in Mississippi are racist because he (and every other candidate) want to win Southern votes. Florida is winnable. Georgia is winnable. North Carolina is winnable. But it takes some White votes and even a few White moderate/conservative votes in order to do that. Calling White Southerners racist by default is something we can do here (and honestly I would guess the number in Mississippi is closer to 60-80%, not 90%), but it would be dumb shyt for a presidential candidate to do.

Remember Obama's "they cling to..." statement? Remember Romney's "47%" statement? Remember Clinton's "deplorables" statement? All three were seen as maybe the three biggest errors of their campaigns, and they were much lighter statements. You do NOT criticize the voting public en masse if you actually want to get their votes.

This should be basic but some people miss it.
