this honestly wasn't a very good movie. The Rock did pretty decent in it...but this story just isnt movie worthy. The Mark Kerr story didn't make for an entertaining movie. If it does then they did a bad job telling the Mark Kerr story. And they made Pride look like an indy wrestling federation. Emily Blunt is a great actress and she did a great job being hateable...but including that in the movie was forced and unnecessary. Wish i could say more good things about this...but honestly...save your time.

Simple fact is this shouldn’t have been a movie. The documentary was fine enough and that’s it. Kerr wasn’t that special and never lived up to his brief hype. Being a pill head and having a fukked up relationship isn’t unique for mma fighters. You have to be deep into wrestling 30 fukking years ago to know who he is. Hell even most mma junkies will take a minute to remember who he was. He’s not Coleman, Frye, Randleman, Shamrock, etc. He won a few early UFC tourneys, went to Pride where he more than likely dove for paychecks, and that’s it

Wasn't this hit by the Taylor Swift BS?

But whatever gonna go watch it on Saturday, are most dramas even making that much? I feel like people prefer to watch thise kind of movies at home.

I guess I was the only person that was hyped for this movie :skip:

I really enjoyed it, but this was a weird choice for an MMA story to turn into a biopic. Personally, I love the documentary. But it’s something that only the most diehard of MMA fans are familiar with. Making a movie on such a niche story was destined to flop.

This is what it really boils down to.

When I first heard about the concept of the movie I thought hmm, so basically a mid version of The Wrestler.

Then the trailer came out and I said hmm, so basically a non-interesting version of The Wrestler.

From everything I’ve seen apparently this movie is a beat for beat, direct adaptation of the documentary & The Rock was shopping this to Benny. Makes sense why the film is so blah. Moving forward, if he does want to continue pursuing serious roles, he should just leave the creative vision to the directors.

SImple question that should have been asked long ago
Who in the fukk is Mark Kerr?
That can be said about a number of biopics. I don't think it's necessary for the person to be widely known by the general population
