Benny The Butcher has implied that Freddie Gibbs violated street code during their longstanding feud, and said issues started when Gibbs spoke about the Griselda rapper getting shot at a Houston Walmart.

Tensions between the former collaborators turned rivals were reignited back in August when Benny The Butcher was seen wearing one of Gibbs’ chains that had possibly been snatched during a scuffle at a Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Buffalo back in May. The pair have traded shots ever since, with Benny posting a photo of Gibbs’ girlfriend performing oral sex and Gibbs mocking Benny’s hairline and his forthcoming documentary.

In an interview with New Rory & Mal, Benny The Butcher expressed his exasperation at the feud and said he has no idea how things have gotten to this point.

“I think that n-gga just try to use my energy in some type of way,” Benny said. “I feel like if he couldn’t use it by doing songs with me, he was looking for a situation. People know how he go, he was looking for a situation and this ain’t what he wanted…I don’t hate that man, I’m a street n-gga, I’m a gangster for real. He and I know what I’m on, so I don’t hate him, it’s music.”

He continued by saying the Twitter spats were instigated by Freddie, and that Benny’s replies were merely to show the Alfredo rapper that, “you can’t even beat me at this.”

“I don’t know what it’s over,” Benny admitted. “Last time I seen that n-gga, I was at his Grammys shyt, and I’m a street n-gga I don’t fukk with n-ggas or stand around these n-ggas to get songs with ’em…When I seen that n-gga at that Grammy’s shyt, the first thing he said to me, I was on them crutches, the first thing that n-gga Freddie said to me, he walked up to me and said, ‘n-gga who we gotta kill?’ I said, ‘everybody.’ We started talking about rap.”

Mal chimed in to ask Benny The Butcher what it would take for the pair to reconcile, to which he replied Gibbs has to, “keep my name out his mouth.”

“You don’t talk about nobody getting shot, especially like I said I hate to talk about this shyt cause I don’t wanna go viral, but you don’t talk about that, especially if you wasn’t in that room, every street n-gga know that man.

“There’s nothing to talk about. He can co-exist, I don’t wanna talk. I’m not talking to nobody, I don’t give a fukk if he a rapper, to nobody talk about me getting shot…you can co-exist it’s all good. That’s what I wanted – like bruh, what you doing bruh? You talking about that? Oh word. As a n-gga who act like you fukk with me, as a n-gga who done say, ‘who we gotta?’ C’mon man that ain’t gangster.”

He concluded, “ask that n-gga what Benny the Butcher did to him to have him be talking bout some shyt on Twitter. He trying to sell some records.”

The tension between Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher first became prevalent in the public eye when the Griselda rapper sat down with Spotify Greenroom’s Most Necessary: Live in April. During the conversation, Benny said his working relationship with Gibbs “came and went,” which evidently upset the Indiana rapper.

Gangsta Gibbs quickly jumped on Instagram with, “N-gga said ‘working with Freddie Gibbs came and went.’ I know some other shyt that came and went too, n-gga,” he responded. “Just keep my name out y’all mouth, man, when y’all talking to people who are doing interviews and shyt. Just say ‘next question, man. I don’t want to talk about that n-gga, man.’ Just say ‘next muthafukkin’ question.’ For real.”

On the music side, Gibbs just dropped off his new project $oul $old $eperately, while Benny recently linked up for his fellow signees Rome Streetz and Armani Ceaser for the songs “Blow 4 Blow” and “Hunnit Dolla Hiccup.” He also just dropped off the visual to his Tana Talk 4 cut “Thowy’s Revenge” on Thursday (October 6).

So he's mad about Freddie asking about the shooting at the Grammy's, or did Freddie speak on it elsewhere i.e. on Twitter or something? Seems like something is left out

Freddie was definitely high as fukk, tried to be funny and dropped a joke that went too far. Benny obviously took offense and Gibbs being too immature doubled and then tripled down, and now we're here.

I just feel bad for Benny. Every time he talks about it it just sounds like he's hurt because he thought dude was his friend. Freddie just fried his brain doing all these drugs. Shadow of a Doubt Fred talked with some maturity and a clarity that he just doesn't have any more. Dude is out here sniffing his brains out :snoop:
