There probably wasnt a choice presented. A manager or someone from Nas' team simply emailed or called and asked Cordae's team to pull his verse.

I doubt there was actual discussion between Cordae and Nas about Gibbs.

Good find but this doesn't necessarily disprove anything. This just means it wasn't Cordae's song, and it was actually Nas' song. Nas could've had a different vision and concept for the song and that's why he wanted Gibbs off, but that last line in Gibbs tweet indicates some sort of resentment or animosity.
