I know Chuck is a leader we need to purge but I think right now it is more pressing to get rid of the Clintons, Pelosi and Reid.
Amen. Reid already gone. Pelosi need to lose her leadership post... and then she'll go.

That's politics man. He needs Schumer if he's going to get anything he wants passed. What you expect him to say, "The Senate minority leader is a corporatist piece of shyt"?

It sucks. Only brightside is that he is backing Ellison to be DNC Chair

Schumer and Sanders have been pretty close for awhile, both Brooklynites and all that.

It was a given that Schumer was going to be the leader of the Senate Dems when Reid retired.

I'm sorry (not really) but you're an idiot if you really think that's racist.

How is it racist for him to correctly acknowledge that he a) is white and b) came from the ranks of the working class?

That's not remotely racist.

If a GOP senator made this same statement, we'd all get in their ass and call them a racist.

He saying forget those minorities, and focus on "my people." Thats why minorities didnt vote for him.

This is entirely untrue. He even was on CBS Morning News and repeated the same thing. Sanders won voters of color under 30 by a 2 to 1 margin. How is the following racist?

This is today:

Keep racial justice front and center
Hundreds of callers have flooded Sanders’ office phone lines, urging him to keep pressuring for the dismissal of Stephen Bannon, the right-wing media executive and white-nationalist favorite recently named Trump’s chief White House strategist. It’s a reflection, Sanders said, of how far outside the mainstream of American opinion Trump is when he delivers his rants on Mexican immigrants, Muslims and the state of African American communities.

“I will not compromise with racism. And I will not compromise with sexism. And I will not compromise with homophobia. And I will not compromise with Islamophobia,” Sanders said. “There are areas I would have hoped that in 2016 we would have put behind us.”

To that effect, Sanders, the newly minted chairman of outreach for the Senate Democratic leadership, said Democrats need to redouble their efforts to forge ties with the minority groups that have traditionally supported them but are not coming out to vote in the numbers Democrats need to win. “We’ve got to build on the current base,” he said.
He is literally advocating for the exact opposite of what you said.

Uncertain grounds

1) when it comes to the GOP hypothetical..possibly..but that circles back around to the left and id politics. He wants to focus on class
2) he never said or implied to forget anyone else. Hes subtly referring to how that is the GOPs base and shouldnt be. He didnt say to focus on them but implied that there needs to be a tailoring of the democratic message that reaches the people that they didnt get this time around.

It is open to interpretation but this was harmless imo

Well, the difference is with the GOP they are all bad faith and dog whistles....coming from almost anyone over there it would be nothing but that, but coming from Sanders, in this context is referring to the votes lost in the rust belt (the ones who could be salvaged, and aren't infected with racism) and how he sees the dems failure to reach those people. As far as deleting it, that's probably more about party unity in the wake, then it being construed as racist.
