Bernie Sanders’s Fundraising Dropped in April
The $25.8 million raised in April is a sharp fall from March’s $44 million haul

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders raised almost $26 million in April, down from $44 million in March, marking the first time this year his fundraising dropped from one month to the next.

Sen. Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign raised nearly $26 million in April, the campaign said Sunday, marking the first time this year that his fundraising dropped from one month to the next.

The Vermont senator’s supporters may be discouraged by his narrowing path to the presidency. The $25.8 million raised in April is a sharp fall from the $44 million he raised in March, and March’s number barely surpassed February’s $43.5 million.

The campaign said in a news release that April’s haul surpasses the monthly average throughout the election of $17 million. February’s donations bring his total annual fundraising haul to $210 million, the campaign said.

Mr. Sanders’ rival, Hillary Clinton, hasn’t released her fundraising total for April. Mr. Sanders outraised her campaign in March by nearly $15 million.
