I believe the many states in the South can be flipped, but it's going to take decades. Unless the Republican candidate is severely flawed, like that dude in Alabama, Dems need to allocate their resources elsewhere. Any money spent trying to win statewide in the South is a wasted effort which could be better spent trying to secure the Midwest, which is vital. Dems ain't winning Texas and Georgia in 2020. I would also cede Florida as well. :yeshrug:

This is dumb. Not competing means that your opponent doesnt have to defend and can spend resources encroaching on your territory. Dems need to offer tangible results on a county level to unlikely voters and build from there.

How is conserving your resources dumb? Wasting anymore money on the South is dumb. You don't see the GOP trying to win in Cali and Massachusetts because it's a retarded strategy.

How about you compete in every state. How about you build the party from the ground up. Solidify your base in each state mark your territory’s and try to gain followers from there that’s the way they’re going to win. I Saw how Texas won some state House and Senate seats. That’s a start. Unfortunately some of these states will have to suffer ie Florida under Republican control so It’s residence can realize that the GOP game plan is it working for them. What happened in Kansas is going to have to happen in Florida.

yeah the region as a whole has become less Conservative in much of it than 2000, so Dems should stop trying in it, never mind that much of the region is becoming majority non white and we know non of them folks ever vote for Dems :troll:

The object is to win, not just moral victories of losing by a small margin. Dems don't need the Deep South to win control of the government.

Loses are loses.

Is this where we congratulate a candidate for winning a primary in Mississippi? I wrote off the south and most of the Midwest 10 years ago.
Wins are built off losses. How is the takeaway from last night, where Democrats made truly shocking advances on the state level and got closer than ever before, that they should then abandon those gains? It may not have been the massive top-down sea change people were looking for, but it's the hard work that needs to be done to flip these red states. Keep building. On to 2020. This isn't over. Not by a long shot.

black man loses governor race by a percentage point. see we shouldn't even invest resources in that state what's the fukking point if we're going to lose. black woman loses governor race by a percentage point. see we shouldn't even invest resources in that state what's the fukking point if we're going to lose.

is this disappointment talking? please let that be the case otherwise it's straight up RETARDED. shyt orange county, fl use to have a fukkin racist republican sheriff. now the county is deep blue. it's a good thing the people who lived here before me didn't give up and conceded this county to the republicans forever. in my time in this state seminole county which is next door to orange has gone from red to purple to light blue.
