We are spending record amounts of money in these states and not winnng. Again we can definitely win in the South, but it will take decades of demographic changes. Waste of fukkin resources to attempt to win these states presently.

Spending insane record amount of money, millions and still losing even but 1-5% is not a winning strategy. We don't even need those states to control the government.

I believe the many states in the South can be flipped, but it's going to take decades. Unless the Republican candidate is severely flawed, like that dude in Alabama, Dems need to allocate their resources elsewhere. Any money spent trying to win statewide in the South is a wasted effort which could be better spent trying to secure the Midwest, which is vital. Dems ain't winning Texas and Georgia in 2020. I would also cede Florida as well.

You do realize elections happen in sequence, right? That engaging people in the political process at the local level helps build infrastructure that bears fruit in future elections? Don't be so myopic breh. We're all disappointed by the outcome of those races, but they were very, very, very close. Future candidates are in the making in those states. Many of them built relationships. We may not see the payoff in 2 years or 4 years, but best believe it makes a difference.

And to breh's point above, sometimes the best defense is a good offense.
