Lets cut off at 1980 here folks :whoa:

Felix is 11-2 with a 2.02 ERA and a .899 WHIP. Fernando Rodney [aka, the most nervous looking baseball player of all time] already has 27 saves.

NOW, this isn't an ALL TIME COMBINATION but it made me think of some.

Who do you think are some of the best #1 starter / closer combos in the past 30-35 years?

I'm not sure which Tigers combo was best. :patrice:

Jack Morris/Mike Henneman
David Wells/Mike Henneman
Jose Lima/Matt Anderson
Jeff Weaver/Todd Jones
Mike Maroth/Ugueth Urbina
Verlander/Valverde

You could probably add Morris/Hernandez to this. That whole '84 squad was just...:gladbron::win:
