90's Braves might have been the GOAT pitching staff, doin' work in an era when even the most :flabbynsick: sluggers were hitting 30+ homers in a season.

Our closers were always Over the run we did have 5 or 6 guys who could hammer it down in the 9th (Pena, Wohlers, Rocker, Ligtenberg, Smoltz). I think Kimbrel has been our longest tenured closer of the past 20 yrs

That "goat" pitching staff lost what 4 World Series and countless first round exits they had that one fluke title but beating a Cleveland team shouldn't count

In 1993 the Giants had a legit duo on their way to winning 103 games.

Bill Swift had 21 wins with a 2.82 ERA (while finishing 2nd for the Cy Young) to go along with Rod Beck and his 2.16 ERA and 48 saves (including an astounding 71 games finished.)

Negged

:sadcam: It felt like the Astros lost that series even though they were still up 3-2 after that :sadbron:
Breh I was an adopted cardinals fan back at that time since I lived out there.... Seeing the cardinals son teams left and right was:whoo:

That breaking ball wainwright gave Beltran in 2006 to end that series was soul crushing:whew:

I hated the Cardinals because they were always in the Astros way in the late 90s (and still do to this day) ... but that outfield of Ray Lankford, Ron Gant and Brian Jordan was :ohlawd:

That Wainwright breaking ball that FROZE Beltran made me especially giddy because I was still in my "fukk Beltran" phase (like most Astros fans were) after he left the Astros following his MAGICAL 2004 postseason ... I still laugh about that pitch to this day :mjlol:
