This shows that Gretzky is the only player that is hands down the GOAT of his sport. Every other sport it could be debated, not here. For anyone who doesn't follow hockey and might not know what's going on in that chart, it shows that Gretzky has more career assists than Messier, who's 2nd all time in total pts scored, has total pts (Goals + Assists), while also playing just about 300 less games than Messier did. Gretzky has almost 1000 more pts total than Messier, and 76 more assists than Messier has total pts. It's probably the most absurd/dominant stat in sports.

For those who dont get hockey, this means that if Gretzky never scored a goal in his career he'd STILL be the all time points leader purely off assists.

The best bball analogy I can think of is a player never shooting a free throw in their career and STILL being the all time scoring leader.

Its a level of dominance thats so absurd its kind of hard to comprehend. As far as GOATS go Gretzky >>>>> everyone INCLUDING MJ and it aint even close.
