Gamestop "used" is going to be the cheapest again. This could be really good news for them.
Some people are suggesting that BestBuy is going to relaunch the GCU program in a different form.
Sounds like wishful thinking to me but we'll see.
It's wild because I've bought a refrigerator, a stove, a washing machine, apple watches, hard drives, TVs, camera accessories, phone cases, and a ton of movies from Best Buy all because of the GCU program. I've been an Elite Plus member for 3 years straight. If they get rid of the program for good I'll take all that business elsewhere and I'm sure a lot of people will do the same.

Keeping it 100, Best Buy customer service has been garbage to me also. Whenever I've needed help to find something I always have a bad experience with their customer service staff. I've always found the ones in my area to be unprofessional as hell. Laughing and joking with each other when lines are backed up. If their website says something is in stock and I can't find it, they will do everything possible to not bother even looking for it. The ONLY reason I have gone to Best Buy is because of the discounts and rewards program which has been so good that I have been willing to ignore the Walmart level, piss poor customer service they offer.

It's like....WHY? :why:

You can't tell me this didn't bring in business. For the past year and a half, every video game I've purchased has come from Best Buy thanks to this deal. Which is a fukking steal at that. $30 for 2 years of 20% off every game sold at Best Buy, on or offline, AND IT STACKS ON SALES AND OFFERS POINTS FOR GIFT CERTIFICATES...who the fukk is passing that up that's not already tied up with Amazon? :mindblown:

I lowkey expected a price increase in due time but getting rid of it??? FOR WHAT PURPOSE?

That's the whole thing. IT DIDN'T BRING in business. The plan was for people to come to best buy save on games and buy other things while in the store. That never happened. GCU was a money losing operation.

With that said im sick :scust:

I'm inclined to believe this, because it's the only thing that makes sense. :snoop:

It could be a number of things but I think the most likely are; GCU wasn't the loss leader they wanted it to be, and Amazon stepped in and made an agreement with Best Buy to change things up. If nothing else, Amazon needs/wants a presence in every city, and the partnership with Best Buy was already a step in that direction.
Physical media is being aggressively phased out as well. Even if GCU did come back, it's only a matter of time before they get rid of it again. It's a program specifically for a dying media format.
IMO Best Buy's biggest mistake was lowering the price so much. GCU could easily be a $50 - $60 per YEAR program and still be appealing to gamers.
$30 for 2 years is nuts. (For a retailer).

That's you. You're a minority. All articles reporting on this are saying the same thing. It was losing money for them.

Same here, I spent about 7 grand there in the last 2 years. Tons of hard drives, games, televisions, etc.... probably wont shop there as often anymore..... when my GCU runs out in 2021 :troll:

Amazon is currently in a dispute with Sony so you can't buy exclusive games from Amazon at the moment :snoop: fukked up thing is that we probably won't be able to pre-order Spider-Man using the E3 discount because of this :beli: fukking :trash:

I just noticed Amazon doesn't even have consoles in stock either :dwillhuh:

The closest one to me closed down so now I got to drive 25 minutes to get to one. The one that closed was horrible. I'd order shyt online and it would take like 6-7 hours before it was ready for pick up. A few times I went in the store and they didn't have it waiting on me. After waiting like 20 minutes for them to figure out what was going on I just walked back and picked up a copy of the game I was scooping my damn self and had them just scan that one for me. Half the time when I wanted to buy something nobody was at the cashier area to check out so I had to go find somebody. But it was such a great deal I kept going back.
