One worry I did have for Bivol is that he would do too much take too much risk and end up getting himself knocked out. But I watched a couple interviews and he said he would not be reckless. But he did say that he just has to do a little bit of everything better to "leave no doubt" to the judges

Cause if we are being honest, Bivol disrespectfully was treated as the challenger and Beterbiev as the champion when coming into the 1st fight they were both champions. Bivol knows there is an inherent preferential treatment with Beterbiev

Can't put my finger on it but Bivol looks off to me. Like the fight aged him, he looks old in the face. Maybe not getting enough sleep? Or training too much? Beterbiev looks calm in comparison and seems like he knows what to do. I think the short turnaround benefits Beterbiev, so long as there's no last minute injury.

So although I'd like Bivol to win this one, I got Beterbiev winning again.

this is what i said in the first fight thread

Ppl bivol got beat up...but he's a tough tough man to take it but knowing how this goes...beterbiev chipped away a little at his punch resistance with the visible injuries bivol has..and unless father time gets beterbiev, bivol is in for a significant amount of hurt in a rematch..think juanma vs salido

It seems unbelievable how Buatsi still didn’t have a single title fight in his career.

This guy turned to pro like 8 years ago and I remember that he was one of the more promising prospects out of his UK peers, fresh off Olympic fame too.

Ffw to now he is soon to be 32 and his best opponents so far were Craig Richards and Hutchinson, so basically UK/European level fighters.
Has the chance to challenge for a title too, didn’t live with it.

A sad example of a career that bad career decisions and “keeping the 0” derail.
Compare it with Yarde who with much less amateur experience challenged the top level guys a couple of times already and even though he lost to them at least he tried and his status hasn’t really dropped at all by giving a good account of himself against Beterbiev.

Buatsi vs Smith gonna be interesting, can’t name an obvious favorite as of now. Smith had fought better guys before though while he’s gonna be Buatsi’s best opponent to date.

if buatsi loses, he will never make it past domestic level...the day he left eddie is when his career sputtered

True and iirc he even had the chance to challenge Bivol while he was with Matchroom just didn’t lube with it. Not sure if I got the timeline right but I’m sure that at least one but possibly more points in his career he could have
