I really like Kyrie Irving's game, and he DEF'NITELY got next, but LOL at calling him the best closer in the league with only a season and a half under his belt...and y'all call OTHERS "reactionary".....

What do you define as "closer"??
The guy I want on my team in the last 5 minutes of a game? Lebron. No question.
The guy I want on my team down 1 with the ball and 10 seconds left? Melo. Then KD.

Honestly, as objective as that may be - he's been the most impressive closer this season. Bar none.

man, kyrie ain't even in no damn big games yet to be called the best closer. he IS an excellent closer, but context is everything. personally, i can't wait to see him close in nationally televised huge matchup games on x-mas and in the playoffs obviously. he just not there yet.

How is it pretty clear? Because ESPN made up a stat and ran with it? The majority of games aren't won and lost with less than 24 seconds left. So the term "closer" isn't really appropriate IMO. But if that's the criteria, then I'm going with Melo.

On the contrary, Pierce has one of the greater body's of work in the league, yet - his production/ability throughout this season pales in comparison to Kyrie's.

Lebron is the only player in the league that can take over a game in crunch time on either end of the floor. But apparently you're only a "closer" if you're good at making buzzer beaters smh
How is it NOT clear, dawggie? LOL, like you said, that's not MY criteria, that's ESPN's. And when I say "this is pretty clear", what I mean is that it clearly outlines what their criteria is for determining what a closer is.
I think you're thinking that I'm saying that theirs is the ONLY definition, and that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying, that's a good definition, IMO, but that "it's clear" what their criteria was for making their determinations.
That's cool...guess I should have said "body of work over their career", that's really what I was getting at.
I just think that, even if Irving finishes this year performing at an elite level during the "closing moments", when compared to somebody like Melo who's done it for more than just two seasons, I can't give it to Irving. That's all I'm sayin'....
But again...Kyrie is that dude, I enjoy watching him play.
