Denis Villeneuve was the first name to come to mind.

Cary Fukunaga deserves an honorable mention. Steve McQueen, Alex Garland, and Ava DuVernay also did some phenomenal work this decade.

And going into the next decade I'm particularly interested to see what Robert Eggers cooks up. That man definitely has next
