And its just 'downtown' not 'city center'

I`m trying to hit up spots that I can't get something like it elsewhere, if that makes sense. It seems Hot Dogs and Pizza are the only real "Chicago" exclusive type of spots.

I got you. One suggestion I have that is kind of a staple is Valois. It's more of a breakfast spot. It's located in Hyde Park. I used to always go with my Grandma growing up because she lives in Hyde Park. It got some national popularity a while back because Obama used to go there when he stayed in Chicago. I'm probably not the best person for this because I grew up on the South Side and didn't venture too much

But yeah , you're right, Chicago is mainly famous for Italian beef, Hot dogs, and Pizza. I know you've probably heard of Giordano's. You might wanna check it out if you just want to hit a staple. Garrett' popcorn downtown is really popular, but they got one of those in Lenox Mall down here.

If you really want some real authentic shyt, you just might have to hit the hood:francis: I would tell you to check out Billy's Gyros or the Harold's on Cottage Grove, but I ain't trying to send you off 79th:mjcry:

Yea I`m good on Chicago hoods lol, I`m in the hoods of ATL every day but at least cats here have sense, Chicago seem like some 1994 Cali steeze. So I guess I need an Italian Beef Spot, a Pizza Spot, and a Hot Dog spot near downtown.

nah tbh, Im not to big on burgers myself (other than hardees:manny: ) but the restaurant I just suggested also has burgers as well

oh ok, ATL has a big burger culture, so was interested to see what the Chi had. Are there any desserts native to the chi?

cant really think of any native desserts except chicago-style cheesecake. I'm not too hip to the cheesecake scene myself. I sure there are spots near where you're staying though....
