I'm a borderlands fan and 3 was just a lot of reptitive meh with a lot of outdated ideas. Plus it's buggy as shyt.

facts

2 was corny but still much better written where it mattered

3 was just corny

It's funny looking at lists like this vs. experiencing those games in real time. They have a lot of the classics but placements at this level is largely subjective.

Perfect Dark for instance, never got the hype. shyt didn't ring bells by me back then, yet we (we = the neighborhood, schoolmates, similar-aged relatives, etc) were all knee deep into GoldenEye. Imagine my surprise when I'm older looking back and seeing it scored so high :heh:

But then I saw it's release date and that explained it. Released during the PC golden age where FPS enthusiasts resided. Q3A, UT, Half-Life and their mods (i.e. Counter-Strike) ran the FPS-sphere. Couldn't really go back to console shooters heavy until Halo 2 when Live changed the game.

Late-90s, early 2000s PC gaming was somethin else :wow:

Ya, there was a time the fps genre was associated as a pc thing, kinda like the RTS genre.

List is kinda weird.

Admittedly I’m not the biggest FPS fan.

I’m playing Wolfenstien right now and I think it’s really good. If you like pure FPS games I think it sits with the best.
