Best game of Assassins Creed series?

Never played any of these games.

Where to start?

Trilogy? This series got like 8 games.

AC2, Brotherhood and Black Flag are must plays.

AC1, Revelations and AC3 are the weaker games, not horrible but not as good as the ones posted above. AC1 get's repetitive in it's mission structure, Revelations is basically filler and AC3 has some of the worst 4 hour tutorial ever.

Dont knock AC3. i loved the weapons the tomahawk and the rope darts. i was hanging those british a$$holes from trees, it was awesome..

Yeah but holy shyt those first few hours felt like it went on forever. Everything else after that was good but then the endgame happened and my hate came back full circle.

AC 2 was the best overall. Best protagonist and the strongest story, too. Black Flag is right behind it, though the storyline is nowhere near as good.

I haven't played 3 or 4 but I thought Brotherhood was definitely the best of the earlier games.

To me, I thought the games were getting better with each edition and then Revelations seemed like a big step back

Don't make Black Flag your first. You'll be spending your whole time in the water sinking ships and won't accomplish a damn thing.
