:salute: for this knowledge breh

Single action is a light trigger pull and double is heavy. Many advanced guns have both. Mine has a decocker so when im in single action (the hammer is ready to slam on the shell) i can put it back into double action so the trigger pull requires me to think about what im doing. In single action, you can get nervous and fire a round. In single action you can pick up your gun the wrong way and let off a round. In single action if a child finds your gun they can end their life with stupidity. My woman cannot shoot my gun in double action with her itty bitty hands and weak fingers. Good luck.

@Scarecrow The Terrible home defense is cool but remember having a handgun carries huge responsibility. I hope you look into a permit if you dont already have one. I speak for myself but hope others agree but you dont ever want to have to use your weapon if you dot have to, good luck

It is especially fun to add "sport" alterations to it

I'm thinking about getting a ruger 9mm or one of them walthers.
Anybody got any suggestions for cheapest/most effective pistols?

Can't go wrong with Smith and Wesson, you can get the Sigma Series for the LO and they was sued by Glock because they used Glock design. The Sigma is basically a Glock for 1/3 of the price. I bought a 40 cal for $320 after tax instead of $680 for the Glock :leostare:

probably depends on where you live, in KS & MO you don't need a permit to go to the range. You don't need a permit to own a gun, unless it's concealed. It costs roughly 250-300 with the training and fingerprinting and shyt like that, it took about 6 weeks to get mine back. I would say buy your gun first because you have to pass a shooting test before you get your permit.

No, most you will need is your drivers licience or some form of ID

Depends on where you from, In Illinois you MUST have a FOID card to even touch a gun at Store/Range. Hopefully the lawmakers allow us to Conceal Carry in Chiraq but I guess the other 49 States got it all wrong

glocks cost $680 where u live? mine was only $500. They knocked off 10% for paying cash too.
