Lil Pimp (2004) RIP Bernie. Hottest hood animation using macromedia. Friends who went to NCCU put me on to it. Kinda underground movie.

City of God (2002)

A honorable mention. No Country for Old Men (2007). Not written, produced or starring black people but neither did Scarface in 1983 and it remains a hood staple. One of my favorites.

Joy Road is another decent one. It has Wood Harris, Jamie Hector (filmed same time as season 3 of the Wire), Trick Trick

Nah yes. It's a better film. Not clearly, you can make a case for PIF Because it had a bigger impact but I think the other film was better acted and more compelling. Then again I knew the PIF story already and there's some inconsistencies in it that hurt it a little. Both good though.
