Of course they're gonna perform well.

I'm talking like a once in a lifetime performance, maybe even associated with that artists' peak.

Like Ghost was dope on Ironman of course but did he really blow everyone's minds with his performance? Probably not. Supreme Clientele is another story though.
Oh right.

Then all you gotta do is list classic albums. A thread topic on this about individual performances on group albums will be more interesting though:sas1:

Prodigy - Infamous

Lloyd Banks - Beg For Mercy

Max B - Coke Wave 2

Not really because you wouldn't say that Q-Tip on Midnight Marauders was on the same level as Common on Resurrection, but 8/10 people would argue MM is the superior album, you get me?

Exactly....it's like Common for example. Like Water for Chocolate I consider one of his best albums but even I'll admit his performance didn't stand out like it did on Resurrection. The production on LWFC was a bigger turn out imo

Said it perfectly. Not just LWFC, but even Be. Resurrection is extremely technical and lyrical and just mind-blowing at times. The other two were better functioning albums and had smoother production.

But as your avatar is appropriate, Redman is my choice, and Monch just behind. I'm neglecting to talk about Wu because I could just mention so many performances and I don't want my bias to shine through.

Redman on Dare was insane. I was rewinding damn near every verse, whether because of the lyrical proficiency or his emotions or funny ad-libs. It was a complete experience. The bonkers production helped too.

That's why people debate which of his first two albums is better, but I prefer Supreme Clientele.

I disagree.

I think the debate stems from the overall experience as an album. You'd be hard pressed to find many people claiming that Ghost's rapping was better on Ironman. Supreme Clientele was the peak of his powers or if not exactly then, certainly the early 2000s, even on Bulletproof Wallets and shyt.

The debate is because Supreme has A1 rapping and production and Ironman has that vintage 90s Wu soul sound that is considered untouchable, and the rapping and album cohesion was amazing as well. Don't get me wrong, Ironman rapping was amazing too, but Ghost wasn't really GHOST at that point. Bars were on point though.

For the record, I prefer Ironman because the production, subject matter etc. I prefer the feel of the album. Both 10/10 albums.
