File sharing has existed forever though. Plus news groups > torrents
Come on breh, Napster's demise pushed this tech into the forefront. Bit Torrents made it accessible to everyone even those with shytty connections.

I'd take file sharing over smartphone advancement all day

The iPhone is just an extension of the stuff Nokia and other companies did with their smart phones and Palm Pilots.

It's not really an invention, in my view.

But Apple tends to grab the fame that others have pioneered before them; whether it be phones or tablets or now, even music streaming.

Anyway, I think the smart phone capability thing has kind of peaked for now. There will be improvements with things like how smart phones play a role in monitoring your health. But besides that there's not a lot of new stuff it can integrate that hasn't already been.

Moving forward, the big impactful inventions/innovations will revolve around nanotechnology, transportation/infrastructure and energy...especially since solar is now as cost-effective or better than fossil fuels.
I concur. Smartphones were eventually going to end up where iPhone/iPod took things, Apple just got their first. It was the natural progression of shyt like palm pilots and Pocket PCs. It was going to happen with and definitely without Apple.

Breh, file sharing was way before 2000 though. And I'd take a smart phone over file sharing anyday.

Bit Torrent is different enough to consider it an invention after 2000. I mean, the internet was made to share a file.

shyt is crazy how people take their phone for granted, you got a map of the world in your pocket that you can check at any point and get turn by turn directions, nobody got any excuse saying "I got lost" now.
i was going through shyt the other day and came across my minoHD, what a fukkin waste :wow: god bless the iphone
