Something cheap if you're playing regularly. Hit up a Nike outlet.

Once you lose grip, the bottoms turn into bowling shoes. Which will happen quick if you're playing outside regularly. No point in paying anything more than 60 bucks for shoes that'll be trash in a few months.

I hit up the Nike Clearance store in Houston a few weeks back, got some LeBron 13s for outdoors, 60$:wow:

shyts are tanks, and the big man support is easier on my knees that the Kyries/Hardens I run indoors:ehh:

It's spring/summertime again, so for those (three or so) of you who ACTUALLY play ball in real life, what's recommendations on the best shoes to hoop outside with.

I'm 31 now :sadcam: and my body (feet/knees especially) don't just recover like they used to. I can't just wear any pair of shoes and be gucci now, I need to know which are the most dependable.

You shouldn't be hooping outdoors at all breh. That concrete is so unforgiving. You can hoop longer and more often if you stick to the hardwood.

If you're balling outdoor, Nike makes some of their hoop shoes with XDR (extra durable rubber) so they don't wear out as fast. I personally am a quick cut type player that stays low to the ground so I prefer zoom air cushioning.

XDR+zoom air+breathable upper=piff

How many of you cats old enough to remember Nikes first (and only I believe) ever, strictly street ball shoe? Them Air Raids?

Go get a Gym membership.... your killing your knees on that asphalt... play inside where you can make your old man jumper wet and you're less likely to have to square up with a overzealous bum.

This. If you truly love hooping, get a gym membership so you can hoop inside. You over 30 too, which is even more reason. I broke my foot in 2 places and dislocated all 5 of my toes hooping outside about 4 years ago. Had to get screws and everything. That was the last time I hooped outside Not saying hooping outside caused the injury, and that it couldn't have happened in the gym, but I now pay attention to how much stress I'm putting my body under. If you got an option to put less stress on your body and joints, choose it, especially as we get older.

Plus, don't nobody got time for the wind affecting my shot :hhh:

What type of player are you? And what is your position?
A 5'10" chucker breh; my court vision is actually great and I played point in high school, but as I've grown older I've become much more selfish in all of my life's endeavors.. I play too hard I think though, to be playing on concrete; the competitive juices get to flowing but I can already feel the body breaking down. I'm gonna stop playing defense now though.

After running through this thread I'm probably just going to stick with the indoor hoops. There's a good group of guys I play with on the weekend though, and even just for the social aspect I'll probably keep playing there, just not go as hard.
