it depends on how you look at it.

im against marriage period. i've already accepted the fact that i will probably get married one day. i've also accepted the fact that if i do get married, i will inevitably end up divorced as well.

even when the divorce happens, i dont see an expensive ass wedding as a waste. in my eyes, its an event. like a graduation or some shyt. as adults, there are few, if ever, instances when you get to meet up with all your friends, and have some extravagant celebration. hit up your 5 closest homies and ask them if they wanna go to thailand for a week next summer. the trip will most likely either not happen, or a 3 of them are gonna end up not going. people gotta work, gotta go to school, whatever. people are much less likely to miss one of their closest friends weddings.

i dunno, i just look at it as an excuse to get everyone together and have a good time. obviously if you are spending money you dont have then thats a bad idea. but if you can afford it, or the girls parents are paying for it, then live it up. i try to use any excuse to get all my friends together cause with people living their day to day lives, it hardly ever happens.
