Best is hard, but some people that stand out in each aspect to me...

Wordplay, Jay Z, I really like what he does wordplay wise, a lot of slick shyt.

Punchlines, I like what Big L did, didn't find his shyt corny.

Metaphors, mm not sure....I like Cormega's.

Metaphors are in a whole different category than wordplay and punchlines. Wordplay and punchlines are simple clever linguistics. Metaphors can involve a lot more depth. For instance, the whole I Used to Love H.E.R. is a metaphor.
