first advice is going to be - DON'T DO IT!

you're only substituting one chemical for another. sleep on drugs is never real sleep any way, as much as it may feel like it. you're better off fighting it out til you get back to a natural sleeping pattern on your own. if you start taking sleeping pills now you'll definitely get the sleep you want but then what are you going to do after you get used to sleeping on those for a week / month / 2 or 3 ? it's also never going to be as cozy as that oxy sleep, i know the feeling you're looking for and you're never going to replicate it w otc meds, lol.

i had the same thing happen after my surgery in jan/feb. trying to adjust to natural sleep after narcotic sleep sucks but starting a new set of pills only hits the reset button. eventually you have to pay the piper. if i were you (and i've been there) i would just suck it up til your body adjusts again. it may take a few weeks but you'll be happier to go that route.

now- if you don't want to listen to me i was always partial to tylenol pm. i'm sure it will work for you, but if you do stat taking them don't get on an extended plan.

my 2 cents :manny:

Other than melatonin most of the otc sleep aids contain diphenhydramine which is the chemical in Benadryl. Benadryl is an antihistamine but one of its side effects is drowsiness so you could try those but it may just take some time for your body to adjust to not having the oxy in your system and get back on a regular sleep schedule.

I don't plan to take them every night. Most nights I'm ok. But last night for example I fell asleep fine at like 11:30 but then was up from like 1-3 before I said fukk natural sleep and took a leftover oxy. In that situation I'd rather swap out the oxy for something otc

:russ: that's kinda my point i'm tryna make, oxy isn't intended to be a sleep aid, as much as it feels like you're sleeping on a slice of perfect cloud in heaven when you take them. ideally you don't want to be reaching for a leftover oxy to achieve desired sleep. look i'm sure you know yourself better than anyone, i'm just saying be careful breh. i know the feeling you're going thru and it's a slippery slope. just exercise caution.

i feel where you coming from but ive been off oxy for like 3 or weeks weeks and this has only happened maybe 4 or 5 times so its not really a common occurrence. im not trying to take something everynight just want to have something for emergency purposes besides the oxy. this happened to me last thursday and it fukked my whole weekend up. im not one of those people who can function well off a couple hours...im a p*ssy when it comes to sleep, i need my beauty rest :noah:

Non drowsy, non addictive, just make sure you drink a full cup of water with it
