does money cause evil?

Kinda been proven that the wealthier you get the less compassionate you become

How Wealth Reduces Compassion

A related set of studies published by Keltner and his colleagues last year looked at how social class influences feelings of compassion towards people who are suffering. In one study, they found that less affluent individuals are more likely to report feeling compassion towards others on a regular basis. For example, they are more likely to agree with statements such as, “I often notice people who need help,” and “It’s important to take care of people who are vulnerable.” This was true even after controlling for other factors that we know affect compassionate feelings, such as gender, ethnicity, and spiritual beliefs.

so you're saying lack of compassion is the direct equivalent to wickedness?

Well, evil is a fixed point so money does not cause evil, but through monetary greed it can cause evil actions and evil behavior.

elaborate on your description of evil as a "fixed point"

This is going to sound silly but this is what I believe. I feel like good and evil are fixed concepts in time that were there at the start of life. So are actions and behaviors are assigned as good actions or bad actions based on the pre-set definitions of good and evil.

Money does not create evil because evil has been already created. And if someone with money changes their behavior from good behavior to evil behavior, then now they are engaging in evil behavior.

but if a person engages in what you would describe as an evil behavior in an attempt to attain more money, is money not the cause for their change in action?

and by your description if we take the fixed points of evil and good and insert a variable such as money, at that point how could the variable not acquire the ability to sway the human's actions in favor of good or evil endeavors? is that not an example of the fact money could not only cause evil but also good results
