Shaq and Duncan couldn't work on the same team. Shaq/KG might be a better idea.

the thread originally wasn't about the best 5 man team, though :yeshrug:

Duncan and Shaq would be fine. Duncan would be the offensive anchor, is good enough at the mid-range that he can stretch the floor if needed, and he could definitely be the closer.

But KG and Shaq would probably be better because Garnett is a better shooter and passer.

In 1997-2003, Robinson was clearly the center. Backup was Will Perdue, Kevin Willis.
In 2003-2006, Nesterovic was clearly the center. Backups were Kevin Willis, Nazr Mohammed.

Then it was Obeeto from 06-09.

Duncan has spent the majority of his years as a PF, won most of his rings as a PF, and likes to be called a PF. As he's gotten older, he guards more centers and stuff now but front court positions are changing anyway where PFs play C and vice versa.

Just because Lebron and Melo spend a lot of time at PF the last couple of years DIESNT mean they're aren't still SFs.

Lol when the spurs went to their game winning/clinching lineups duncan was playing center

from like 05-08

they close games with
Duncan
Horry
Bowen
Manu
Tony

Duncan played big time minutes crunch time minutes as center.

Just because oberto or elson started and played 5 minutes don't make them centers.

Kg 18.6pts 10.3rebs 1.5blk .497% (1MVP ; 1chip ; 0Finals MVP)
tim 19.9pts 11.1rebs 2.2blk .504% (2MVP ; 5chips ; 3Finals MVP)

:mindblown: breh -WHAT fukking world...planet...or galaxy ur from :mindblown:
Duncan 02 - 25.5/12.7/3.7/2.5
Garnett 04- 24.2/13.9/5.0/2.2

You put Duncan in Minny he isn't winning any rings either. Duncan was slightly better than Garnett because of his post game, but there wasn't much of a difference between the two.

You don't know much about basketball. Duncan was FAR more effective than KG. It wasn't even close

LOL @ not even close. In 04 Garnett was considered the best player in basketball by pretty much everyone. Duncan was better at protecting the rim, had the better post game and you could rely on him in the 4th, but KG was the better playmaker, rebounder, perimeter defender and could play 1 through 5 on either end at a high level. If Duncan was a 10, KG was a 9 or a 8.5. Duncan was better, but he wasn't worlds better.

:russ: At the thread, so Tmac vs Lebron is more debatable than peak Wade and Kobe, the Wade and Kobe peaks are very close

every one is talking about peaks and best years... if youre looking at the past 15 years how the hell are you gonna choose kg over duncan... when duncan was just the most important piece in 2 finals runs... and KG is literally the most overpaid veteran scrub in the history of the nba over the past 2 years...

you don't mention playoff performances at all. The regular season numbers were similar but KG was known to shy away from the big games, while Duncan flourished in the playoffs. Out producing his regular season numbers every year. That's what separates the two.
Duncan playoff career: 21.3 - 11.7 - 3.1 - 2.3 - 50% fg in 234 games
Garnett playoff career: 18.2 - 10.7 - 3.3 - 1.3 - 47% fg in 143 games
