Aside from providing interior pass rush, what DTs were the best at stopping the run/closing up the gaps?

A few candidates off the top of my head:

- Ted Washington: IMO very influential player who paved the way for the modern massive 3-4 Nose

- Casey Hampton: At his peak played in the middle of some incredibly stingy defenses

- Sam Adams: Had a lengthy, productive career that peaked playing on the GOAT Ravens D

every since casey hampton retired our run defense hasnt been the same.

you can make a good argument for any of them but adams and siragusa were both 350+ :merchant:

stroud and henderson were also 2 monsters up front.

Gotta go with Ted Washington. Guaranteed double team. You had no choice but to run around him.

Adams and Goose combined obviously helped Baltimore win the Super Bowl but Teddy was like both them nigas combined in one man.

Adama and Washington both held it down for my Bills. :wow:

As for currently, all signs point to Damon Harrison taking the crown.

Vince Wilfork had about 3-4 years were he was really, really hard to run near. That dude would grab the center and a guard, then shed them both for a no gain tackle.
