Redman said he was on crazy heavy drugs during the entire Dare Iz period. He said he barely remembers anything from then because he was so high off drugs all the time
Yea I read that too. You could tell he was high as fukk recording that. Cant Wait is one of my favorite songs of his tho

Muddy Waters but Dare Iz is a close second. It's crazy that he not only doesn't remember a lot of that album but doesn't even like performing it because he was in such a dark place. But Muddy Waters is perfect from start to finish. First time I heard Iz He 4 Real, played it back like 10x straight. I don't think there's a bad song on it.

yeah my man was trying to be like his idol George Clinton, taking acid and mesc caps and all this other crazy shyt. Redman NEVER performs anything from Darkside at shows, its like he never dropped it. That era must have really fukked his head up cause he was a big muscled up dude on his first two joints but starting with Muddy Waters he started looking like a dopefiendn and still does.

But yeah....Darkside is mega classic....what a unique album.

I think Muddy Waters is one of the most underrated albums ever. Moms got it for for Christmas 96 The first time I heard Pick It Up when he says "if you find a bag of weed on the floor muthafukka what the fukk you gon do - pick it up pick it up"

Huge Redman fan ... and I got no idea.

So, I'll go ahead and listen to the first 3 redman records over the long weekend (today to a few days from now).

Not sure I'll be able to choose.
