Reciever = Onkyo NR414(best budget receiver out there)

Speakers = Monoprice 9774 5.1 Hi-Fi*Home Theater Satellite Speakers & Subwoofer(same exact speakers & subwoofer as the Energy Take Classic 5.1 set but alot cheaper)

I got around spending tons of money for a speaker setup by buying computer speakers. I have some altecs that came with a nice subwoofer that shake the house. I have to keep the bass down to nothing to not disturb my neighbors.

^^^ THIS. I got a computer surround sound for bout 80 box with 5 speaker and a sub roofer. To me anything else is a waste of money, but if you got it flaunt it I guess :manny:

I was gonna mention these speakers, but looks like that lawsuit caught up to them, don't see them listed on the website anymore.

And that receiver is about $90 cheaper refurbished from Accessories4less with a 1 year warranty

Here's one I was looking at a few weeks ago.

Amazon.com: Yamaha YHT-597 5.1-Channel Network Home Theater System: Electronics

@DANJA it's a lil over the 300 range you set, but it has a network receiver and is a bit more future proof than that Onkyo set.

I have an older version of this that I got for 300 bucks a little over a year ago, and I have no complaints.

It's this one actually, but it's 400 right now so the newer one is obviously the better choice at same price.
