Attitude was the last purely wwf era. Wrestle Mania 17 was the end of that era (I was 11). The Austin heel at the conclusion, which sucked, The post wcw/ecw Invasion angle sucked IMO. Vince got the big head, and instead of having different branches of wrestling to cater the popular yet displaced WCW wrestlers, he crammed them all on top of the already great Attitude era wrestlers. This sucked, because Vince only wanted to make them kiss his ass, and made a complete mockery of their talented stars. He made badass men (NWO) cower to Stone Cold in such a cartoonish way that me even at that age had to say “naw”. The WWE made WCW Champ Booker T into a corny ass second rate joke. Vinces ego got in the way. He had a great roster that he instantly flooded with mostly short term folk.
