No more authentic,rugged, hip hop on BET?

Whenever I get the time, I flip through the channels to see what type of brain washing agenda these tv shows are pushing. BET plays reruns of old black movies or tv shows from the 90's.

Who owns this shyt?

Can they be contacted by viewers who aren't happy with the current programming?

Why even call it "black entertainment" if black people can't control the programming or content.

sad. now all they have is
awards (when the most popular winners don't even bother coming or care because they seek "mainstream" approval)
old movies n tv shows (as funny as martin is....come on ppl)
n reruns of mary jane and scandal for the women who really want to be about that life

it's quite sad actually considering everyone wants to copy us but our own network doesn't showcase our best talents at entertaining

I usef to think Bob Johnson made a big mistake selling BET but nowadays Im not so sure. He might have sold at just the right time (or a little too early).

He sold at the height of music video popularity before youtube. If people want to watch African American movies they can go on Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Plus BET has competition from TVOne, Aspire, and BounceTV.

New management, changing consumer tastes, etc. BET caters to the lowest common denominator and has for well over a decade now.
