I thought King was way better then UL. That vs album was complete trash. Easily his worst. Paper trail was eh. Then after that was forgettable and downhill

One of T.I.'s greatest qualities was his ability to make records that crossed over without trying to cross over. I'm not talking about songs like "Whatever You Like", "Dead & Gone", or "Live Ya Life", but songs like "What You Know About That", "Big Things Poppin'", and "Bring Em Out". The latter three songs were all big without pandering.

What You Know was released as the lead single for the ATL soundtrack along with a major motion picture film he was starring in..

Bring Em Out was Swizz Beats production with a Jay-Z sample...

Big Things Poppin was a prototype sounding Cash Money knock off produced by Mannie Fresh...

None of these songs was as raw and organic of a crossover hit as B.M.F.

Ross is more consistent and has more quality albums. I'd still put Trap Muzik and Urban Legend up against any Ross album, but Ross got the edge on this one.
What is consistent about Rozay's last 3 albums? The quality of music has definitely dropped over the last few years.

I actually like GFID and Mastermind. I don't really listen to Hood Billionaire all that much though. As for T.I.'s last three, only Trouble Man stands out. No Mercy had some joints and Paper Work is one of his worst albums.

What does "What You Know" being released as a lead single for the ATL soundtrack have to do with being a blatant commercial attempt? Nothing about the song indicated that it was going to be as successful as it ended up being. "What You Know" is as organic as "B.M.F.".

Same goes for "Bring Em Out". If I'm not mistaken, that was the first of the Jay Z sampling Swizz Beatz productions.

"Big Things Poppin" sounding like a prototypical CMR joint goes against it being a blatant crossover attempt. That sound was long played out by the time "Big Things Poppin" came out.

I can see the last 2, but What You Know was as raw and organic a hit as BMF...a slightly better sing overall too. It was one of the best singles of the decade. I don't see how it being on a soundtrack detracts from that.

There's no such thing as an ATL soundtrack
