Dame and Mccollum...Wall and Beal definitely have the talent but have underachieved
:dwillhuh: The Blazers were just swept as a higher seed. Wizards have been unlucky in recent years:
  • They swept the Raptors as a lower seed in 2015 and would have went to the ECF that year if Wall didn’t miss three games in the second round
  • They were a game 7 away from going to the ECF in 2017 but the team lacked depth and had to play guys like Mahinmi and Brandon Jennings
  • This past year they had to deal with injuries all year, Wall missed 41 games and Otto was injured in the playoffs.

Dame/CJ had two 50+ regular season records. Wall/Beal never did that in the inferior East. They do have similar playoff results though. You’re right the Wizards never got humiliated like the Blazers did.

Wall/Beal play in an easier conference and always had the better team though. Portland never had a bench like the Wizards (even though DC’s bench was considered weak for a minute too).

That works both ways tho. The blazers have to keep pushing for wins. The wizards can basically chill after they hit 40 wins. Don’t think that’s really a mark in their favor but I don’t place much value on 50 win regular seasons when you’re getting swept out the playoffs in humiliating fashion.

Hard to count that first 1 as “their” 50 win season when LMA was the clear #2 at worst on that squad. And for that same reason idk if I agree with that about Washington always having the better team. Wall and Beal have never had another player near the caliber of Aldridge, even if we can say they currently have a more well rounded secondary group.

How did Dame and CJ underachieve? They overachieve every season. :dahell:
Getting swept in the playoffs is not overachieving breh. You don’t over achieve with a top 5 PG and a top 15 player getting knocked out of the playoffs in the first round more times than not. Unless you’re talking about the regular season then hell yeah they be overachieving. But as a whole, nah.

Was talking about overall, this year was definitely a bad look for blazers but they mostly played tougher teams.

Breh, they were only 3 seed because they overachieved and they took advantage of teams like the Spurs and Minnesota being injured and OKC being trash. Last year was one of the weakest years in the West.

They had a 13 game winning streak because Lillard got hot and was playing like a god and that’s what propelled them.
Two aspects of Blazers basketball contributed most to the league-leading eleven-game win streak: Damian Lillard and the bench.

Lillard provides the boost in offense with 31.7 points per game since the All-Star break. The Ed Davis-Zach Collins pairing, on the other hand, leads the bench and provides solid defense for the Blazers.

The Blazers forwards are trash and their shooting and depth is weak. Pels just loaded up on the backcourt.

Wall and Beal are slightly better because the gap between Beal and McCollum is much larger than the gap(if there is one) between Dame and Wall.

They’ve both got the same issue though. They can’t really playoff their counterparts so they end up being less than the sum of their parts. Both should’ve tried moving one of the two for Kawhi imo.

There's no gap between Beal and CJ my nikka.

Dame and CJ, and it ain’t close in my opinion.

Wall and Beal don’t even like playing with each other and can’t even make it far in the trash East.

Blazers play in a conference where a 6th seed has arguably the best young player in the NBA (Davis) and its only a 3game difference between your seedlings.

Whoa when had the Wizards ever have a bench?

nicca, i don't wanna hear that shiet, hawks beat them niccas in six, and if it wasnt for a lucky paul pierce shot, they would have beat them in 5, them niccas suck, that's like saying the clippers would have beat the warriors if they just got past that 3-1 series lead they had over the rockets

half that hawk team was walking injured by the way
