Don't even start with that

You know damn well that a TP jumpshot was a win for any team defending San Antonio

Don't even start with the facts? :usure:

Your memory and the reality of his jump shot are two completely different things.
facts in a vacuum

when you worried about Timmy on the release and all the shooters waiting on the 2nd pass, TP taking a jumpshot is and always has been a win when dealing with a Spurs possession

and you over here comparing it to other guys getting whole sets run and shotclocks aired out for them

The problem with this is, they actually prove that he had a jumpshot (better than average for a starting PG over most of his career), and was efficient on high volume MD attempts - especially from both elbows. You can't shoot 400+, 16ft+ shots within the arc at 40% and not have a jumpshot. Don't confuse his lack of 3-pt shooting for not being able to shoot, at all. His inside game was his bread and butter, no one can argue that, but his jump shot was a lot better than you're giving him credit for.

It wasn't so good that people wouldn't happily dare him to make it on order to beat his team

This is hyperbole.

Teams most definitely weren't treating him like he was a Rondo-type. It was more the fact he could take anyone off the dribble and get to any spot on the floor, rather than defenders actually giving him a cushion and daring him to shoot.

I said early on that Rondo fukked up the standard on what a PG with a suspect jumper looks like in the league. I'd never compare Rondo's inherently broken, fraudulent, gimmicky abomination of a skillset to TP's catalog.

At the same time I'm saying that's what's making TP's finishing even more impressive in retrospect. Even TP didn't want to shoot it. Either Pop wouldn't let him or he was generally shook. You don't take that many runs at the rim at his size for fun. Even if you are the best at it.
