Better (More Important) NBA Sidekick: Klay Thompson or Scottie Pippen?

Pippen is better than Klay and was more important to the Bulls success than Klay is.

Klay is usually the secondary or tertiary ball-handler and playmaker but Pippen was the primary playmaker. Klay guards the better of the guard players but Pippen's overall defensive impact is closer to Green than Klay is to the Warriors.

Curry is still the primary playmaker for his team and the offense runs through him. Pippen ran the offense (Through Jordan, mind you) but he was still the PG for that squad.

Green vs Pippen would be a better comparison.

Ok so Pippen is basically a combination of Klay and Green in his contribution to the Bulls in comparison to this Warriors team.

Or are you saying is DRAYMOND GREEN alone is a Scottie Pippen level NBA talent?

The bulls went 5-0 without pippen that 72-10 season and went 24-10 without pippen the 97-98 season

They cut from a different cloth, I don't know what it is like everytthing has ot be compared. Album sales, ball players, music, fashion. Like what kinda retarded generation is this where they need to push up their short comings and saying that they are the best because .....

Despite all his responsibilities on offense, when the BUlls needed someone to guard Magic Johnson in the finals it was Pippen that answered the call. And guess what; The minute Pippen was assigned to guard Magic, the Lakers didnt win another game in the series.

That's just the nature of sports media. One of the main reason people are watching the Warriors is to see if they can break the Bulls record. ESPN made up the whole "chasing 72" theme for this season.

They're the ones comparing the Bulls and warriors. I agree with you. It's two different eras. And different teams with different players. They can really compare BUT I'm seeing to many people on here comparing what currys doing this season to MJ.

Since that's the case, I took it a step further and compared the supporting players.

And for the last time I'm not comparing the two players (klay and pippen) on how good they are individually or career wise but rather their importance in the team such as their role (as a sidekick) and contribution in the teams success relative to what Curry or Jordan brought to the table every night

Only people that would say that is those that only pay attention to one side of the game...Jordan was an ELITE defender at Steph's age...And scored in a much more physical era of defense...

Plus there are certain milestones Jordan accomplished that Steph will never reach..

10 scoring titles
Rookie of the Year
6 Rings
6 Finals MVPs
Defensive Player of the Year

And even if you are like most casual fans and totally ignore defense and rebounding.. Jordan's career scoring average is almost 10 ppg higher than Steph's..
