The 80's:

Bird (HOF)
Erving (HOF)
Wilkins (HOF)
Worthy (HOF)
English (HOF)
King (HOF)
Dantley (HOF)
Aguirre
Marques Johnson
Wilkes (HOF)

Now:

Bron (Future HOF)
Durant (Future HOF)
Leonard (Future HOF - pending health)
Melo (Future HOF)
PG13
Hawyard
Butler

I think the 80's is the best era of SFs ever.

Relative to their time and competition, the 80s SFs were better

But lets take Melo for example, with his size and physicality i think he wouldve for sure averaged a few more points and double digit rebounds in 80s

So i could see the argument going either way

80's SFs have much better post up game. they are much more fundamentally sound on defense too.

today's SFs are more versatile and athletic, and they have better range.

it's too different to compare.

but as far as post up game, it's not even comparable. watch some james worthy. he would take any of today's nikkas score at will down low. he would be considered PF in today's nba
