I love them both but I took my wife to The Formation Tour at Citi Field last night and brehs, I was like... Beyonce is the best performer of this generation, hands down!!! The stage presence, timing, dancing, still have the ability to carry a note and dance her ass off without out losing her breath,sexy as hell
hits after hits and can bring in a wildly diverse group of people to pack a stadium. The little movies she made and played while she did her costume changes were dope as hell. I seen Janet live, seen Prince live, seen Jay-Z live. Far as live shows, Beyonce has got to be up there with MJ, Madonna, James Brown and Tina Turner. Incredible artist.

Beyoncé is an icon in her own right. She's definitely a trailblazer for what she managed to do with her last two albums. She's a great performer and entertainer. I'd go as far as to say she's a great singer.
Still, artistically in comparison to Lauryn Hill, she falls short. Lauryn Hill was revered in different spheres. Whether it be Hip Hop, R&B, and even Pop. What MC's out there are actually giving props or respecting Beyoncé for her bars? What R&B legends are reaching out for Beyoncé to co-write and co-produce their songs? What rappers are reaching out to Beyoncé to direct their videos? Lauryn Hill when she came out with Miseducation of Lauryn Hill simultaneously covered Time magazine, Rollingstone, and The Source. She was the first woman to win five Grammys in one night including the coveted album of the year (she beat even beat out Madonna). She scored a number 1 song where she sang and rap with "Doo Wop". That's not even counting what she did as part of The Fugees. As a testament to that artistry, Miseducatiion of Lauryn Hill still resonates to this day. It's still a standard to the degree that Beyoncé's latest album is being compared to it. "Bu, bu, but, Lauryn didn't write or produce anything". Please enlighten me of what the New Ark crew who claim they did most of Lauryn's album have done since vs. the superstar producers who were superstar producers before they ever linked with Beyoncé or went on to produce even bigger records for other artists.

Beyonce has 2 albums that might be classics in Beyonce and Lemonade.
However, Beyonce has a long ass career and a lot more shyt too.

But objectively, if I worked at Rolling stone magazine or some shyt I would probably say Beyonce, she is one of the best performance artists of all times in any genre and is now complementing it with great music.
