As a duo working and playing together, Kidd & Kmart >>> CP3 & Blake. Blake even at his worst and most underdeveloped point in his career is far more talented than Kmart, but he and CP3 are not all the impressive together. Blame it on whichever of the two you want, but they aren't. CP3 and Deandre look better together than CP3 and Blake half the time.

Considering they went to back to back Finals and Blake and CP couldn't even get out of the second round with a 3-1 lead clearly they had better results.

The duplicity of that is, Kidd/K-Mart were in the East during arguably its weakest period - this wouldn't even be a discussion if the conference roles were reversed, because CP/BG would've probably already had at the very least ONE Finals appearance and Kidd/K-Mart would have been lucky to make it out the first round in the West. Now if we were to provide replica competition that both duos faced, CP/BG would have gone to the Finals pretty much every season they were together. Kidd-K-Mart would be lucky to make it out of the first round ONCE while they were together.
But I was just talking about better chemistry in the way their games fit together. Chris Paul may be the best point guard in the league but it's probably not the best fit to get the most out of Blake. If Blake had Jason Kidd as his PG it'd be :wow:

If Blake had Kidd as his PG, they'd be a middle-of-the-road team, competing for an 8th seed.

And you'd be a shyt GM; have fun looking for a new job after losing in the second round for the fourth straight season.
CP/BG in the East during the early 2000s = Finals appearance(s) and possibly a Championship.

you can say that CP3 and blake are better players.

but kidd & kmart were the better duo.

kidd is better than cp3, btw. and i'd rather have a prime kmart on my team instead of blake.

:mjlol:

You'd rather build a team around KMart than Blake?

I'm trying to imagine a GM offering Kmart for Blake and not getting laughed off the phone.

:jbhmm:What does CP do better than Kidd did again? I'm taking prime Kidd. as a duo I'm taking Kidd/Martin. No disrespect to BG/CP. Kidd just made everybody better. Even the waterboys had career years when Kidd was in NJ.

:dwillhuh:

CP3 just averaged 19.1 PPG on 59% TS while averaging 10 AST / 2 TOV.

Kidd doesn't have a single season nearly as good as that. CP3 is literally on another tier as a scorer while still being a comparable/better playmaker.

CP shooting numbers shake out to be slightly more efficient than Kidd but not enough to make him better. IMO.

:dwillhuh:

19.1 on 59% is extremely efficient and he did it while playing less minutes and in a much harder conference and averaging more assists and lower turnovers while leading his team to a top-tier offense.

18.7 on 52% is below average and the Nets were never a great offense.

Kidd would be behind Westbrook and Curry.

How many other point guards in the NBA today that are better than Jason Kidd?
Westbrook, Curry, CP, Irving, Lillard - there's other names who I would take over Kidd today too.
CP3 was more talented but I would pick Kidd over CP3 in the post season.
Would you still pick Kidd in the post season if he was in the West and had to play similar competition to what CP3 has played? :usure:
