If anything shumpert regressed.
This too.

Everything about him screamed scrappy potential elite defender.

I don't know if was Mike Woodson, Knicks development or just bad luck.

This dude damn near defensively carried the Knicks in that playoff series against Pacers.

Yeah I don't think it was coaching it seems like his head got to big and he got comfortable. Remember when trade rumors would come up and teams would inquire about him but the Knicks didn't want to move him?:russ:

I'll admit, I was a big "Not My Shump" Knicks fan.

:snoop:

He had the intangibles, fukk. But Knicks could have had Lowry right now

My Pops Forever RIP

:scust: LOWKEY @tremonthustler1 IS ONE OF THE WORSE BASKETBALL POSTERS ON HERE
AND WE LET HIM GET AWAY WITH IT.

You really tryna hold me to a comment I said
I remember when Ruben Patterson was known as the Kobe stopper. Those were the days :banderas:(and I HATE this smiley. Sadly I couldn't use another one to convey my thought)

He's getting his starter's minutes. He's gonna have a target on his back every night now. He can't sneak up on people this year. He's capable, so let's just see now shall we?

Clearly in 3 years one player improved at pretty much everything and the other remained the same player I didn't even like then.

Low key you really wanted to dig for some shyt I said a while ago like I wouldn't change my opinion on it or act like I felt the same way about them DEFENSIVELY which was the only thing I pointed out. fukk outta here

I DIDNT DIG FOR ANYTHING.

I JUST READ THE THREAD
AND SAW YOU SAYING SHUMP WAS A BETTER DEFENDER THAN JIMMY.

THAT HAS NEVER BEEN TRUE.

Read through the thread, hoping I picked Jimmy. I didn't :sadcam:

But like everyone been saying, Jimmy has been one of the most improved basketball players I've ever seen. He's gotten better by leaps nearly every year while Shumpert is still a defender and not a consistent shooter.

Jimmy's offensive potential was evident at the time this thread was made, so its lazy to just say 'oh he had unprecedented improvement'

He was already showing signs of great footwork, and was showing his ability to get to the line at a high level

Shump got too comfortable and really didn't improve his game beyond defense and occasional threes. Also going to a team like Cleveland, his game wasn't going to improve beyond what is was.

Also he does a lot of goofy shyt on the court that just has me like :what:

Not to be a front runner but shump never demonstrated anything more then being a one dimensional rotation player. Jimmy at the very least had untapped potential which he's obviously exceeded

To be fair, Jimmy Butler probably made greater improvements in his game than anyone in the league; maybe Kawhi Leonard or Paul George could be considered.
