Carlton, Jazz and Tre were crazy ass friends, Will was immature dating everyone until he met Lisa and realized he needed her, He clowned his cousin/friend Carlton/Jazz but stuck up for him when outsiders came at him (the Frat episode with OG Bobby Johnson) and put differences aside.
Bro I love Fresh Prince too but they lost points when Will’s Mom married Lisa’s dad at the wedding that they decided not to have. I still don’t know who thought that was a good idea lol. I just identify with Martin more as a grown man. Love both shows but Martin is my number one.. Side note I know people kill season 5 or Martin but the most underrated shyt out of the whole season is.

Tommy: Cole, you fell for the oldest trick in the book.

Cole: She wasn’t that old.

Too many nights dying of laughter watching martin as a kid. Going to school the next day talmbout, "you see Martin last night?:dead:"

The jodeci episode
Dragonfly Jones
Martin fighting Michael Jackson
Martin fighting that big ass rat on vacation
Martin clowning gina's male friend
Hustleman

Martin was a comedian so damn near everything he said was funny. Fresh prince doesn't compare. Can't recall last time i watched a fresh prince re-run.
Trying to be the first to quote them lines:wow:

I agree with this and the person you replied to. Family Matters annoys TF out of me now. Martin is my top sitcom ever man. The lead up to Martin and Gina getting married was goat status to me and when Gina left his ass then the old dude told him “old fools used to be young fools” That was some real shyt. I love Fresh Prince but I bet most people here would say they identify more with Martin than Fresh Prince just judging off what the shows were about. Crazy ass friends, starting out immature dating someone and losing them only to realize you can’t live without them. You clown your friends but when an outsider comes in with the bullshyt, you can put your differences aside and get them fools the fukk out of here. Martin is my pick.
good catch:ohhh:

I would put this over anything in fresh prince, Alone

Nah I had my father around but I forgot this is the coli where the only reaction a black man should have is with his fists.
Um if a nikka ran out on you and your moms and left you broke in the hood and didnt communicate once. Aint send you a birthday card or nothing then had the nerve to show up at your rich uncle's house like it's all good :usure:

The only reaction you should have is to beat that nikka's ass and have Uncle Phil give him the Jazz treatment

I grew up with Fresh Prince as opposed to Martin tbh. I honestly don't remember ever watching it as a kid but I guess its more to the fact that Fresh Prince had alot more reruns than Martin. So I'm going with Fresh Prince.

Fresh prince had teachable moments and lessons Martin was just entertainment

Exactly how I feel. I grew up on fresh prince and don't think I got into Martin until I was a bit older. Both had their moments but I related more to fresh prince at the time as I was growing up. Martin had better guest stars and jokes but fresh prince just put it all together better. Martin Lawrence is funnier than Will Smith but Will Smith is a better actor.

Martin is for people who like that what I call "wacked out" comedy. That Steve Harvey, Cedric "Ahahaaaaaa" type stuff. I could never get into Martin cuz I always felt it was kinda corny. Didn't care for "Shanaynay" and all these different characters. Felt corny and try hard. I don't like when a show/comedian makes me feel like I'm supposed to laugh. Just give me the joke and I'll decide if it's funny or not. I don't care how many wigs and funny faces you make.

Fresh Prince is a show that'll catch you laughing even when it's on in the background and you're not really paying attention just by listening to how everyone is interacting with each other. The thing is EVERYBODY on Fresh Prince was funny. Carlton :jawalrus: , Geoffrey, Hilary, Ashley, Dark Skin Aunt Viv, the Big Guy.. everyone had their moments and it was unintentional humor. Even little Nicky. Mainly just off the rip comments and shade throwing that made the jokes 10x funnier.

Fresh Prince felt like you were a fly on the wall of a funny family household.

Plus Fresh Prince wasn't "just" comedy. They had deep episodes, they had lessons and morals. They had conscious material. It had a little bit of everything.

they both my top favs,

But martin edges it out for me.

Martin is better in the pure comedy/funny spectrum

but as a overall show that can have you in your feels, laugh, and leave you thinking etc. Fresh Prince easily beats it..
