I got woke up this afternoon by my girl screaming about the sheriff being on the phone for me saying I missed jury duty and had two bench warrants out for my arrest. Now, I'm confused as hell because I served jury duty back in March. So I think, maybe they didn't mark me present but I know I checked in with the kiosk and said "present" before they dismissed us to make sure we didn't duck out early. Dude on the phone said that federal jury duty is separate. So I'm panicking, wondering what the fukk is going on and I tell him I never got a notice in the mail or by email for this. So he goes through some legal stuff and says he'll mark me as "did not receive" but I need to show up at the courthouse before 5 or else they'll send the sheriff to my house. He says that I need to specifically ask for him at the office or else they'll fingerprint me and take my mugshot etc. So we're both talking at the man on the phone and he's trying to calm us down saying he'll work with us. Eventually he gives us an address and repeatedly says we need to be there by 5. So we start getting ready to go but he won't let us hang up. Instead, he wants to send us a text message with a copy of the warrant. So we give him a number to do so. We get the text and the warrant is full of typos, doesn't have my full name and doesn't have any real identifying information. It's just a sheet of paper that looks like it was typed up with a template. In the end, he sends a QR code and says we have to scan it and pay $4500 that will be refunded after we clear things up. We asked what if we didn't have the money and he says I'll go to jail and I have to pay before coming down to the office :francis:
I should have known something was up. He had a California area code but not the one for the courthouse, he called on a public number and this bytch had a southern accent. Look, I watch a ton of scambaiting stuff on Youtube. I'm used to drug scammers, insurance scammers, computer scammers, car scammers and all types of other shyt. But these dudes usually sound Indian or African, sometimes trying to use an American accent. Never heard a southern accent. Be careful. He would have gotten me out the house if he wasn't so adamant about that money up front shyt and didn't send that fake ass letter. I was starting to get paranoid that he was just trying to get me out the house so he could rob it while i was across town before he asked for money.

Old folks always fall for these scams, I always tell mom dukes, forward me anything that suspicious so I can verify it.

Protect your older family members, their life savings maybe at risk

Old folks and technology :snoop:

Why i get on Facebook one day and my grandma got a photo of her id in her FB stories :gucci:

Then when I called to help her get it off, she starts blaming other family members saying they did it.

Nah grandma, they was at your house yesterday. This was done 15 minutes ago. :snoop:
