yes because everybody that's not feeling beyonce can't stand any other black person doing well
we don't own any black artists music or go to black artists concerts
we don't have any black movies, we don't own any books by black authors
we haven't been influenced of shaped by any successful black people ever.
boy, we just full of hate :martin:
Man shut up. If the criticism is about the music or the video shyt is straight nikkas talking about shyt that has nothing to do with either. I made a general statement and you took that shyt like I was making a deep comment on black sociological make up. Gone head with that

nikka. you said "Lol black people hate to see black folks at the top doing good."

you took it from beyonce to some general shyt, as it to say if we shytting on this, we somehow have a problem with successful black people.

now you're back tracking?

I made the statement if you took it as it being absolute then you're being coy. Their are people in this very thread who are of color supporting the song come on man.

Wait a second, I was reading up to try to figure out why everyone said the person who sounded like a dude on the hook was named Messy Mya...

So then I find out that there is this whole new type of music called Sissy Bounce with Messy Mya (a dude) and Big Freedia (another dude) as some of the more famous pioneers of this type of music.

Here is a NYT article on it http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/25/magazine/25bounce-t.html?pagewanted=all

All I'm inquiring is what is this overlap between pro-black, and these effeminate dudes in the video talking about slaying etc?

It's just not making any sense to me.

That's probably a nod to the gay community. Gay men are the only ones who really listen to these female pop stars like that. That's why you saw all of them come out and saying something when gay marriage became legal, but they say nothing about anything else. Go to a board like atrl.net, or on twitter. You'll see a bunch of effeminate dudes stanning for pop stars. I remember when in 2014 March Beyonce had the third highest streaming album for men, and I was like :what:. Then it all made sense.

So Beyonce and jay z being extorted by activists and that's why they did this? Not a good look. It's a good look to fight on behalf of your people but it's not a good look to do it after being publically scolded. Cause now it looks like they had a point publically questioning your character. And that gonna legitimise this public shaming tactics. :snoop:

Or maybe Beyonce would have done this anyway:yeshrug:

I guess belafonte diminishing your blackness in favor of a generic CAC devil with hundreds of millions of dollars like Bruce Springsteen really affected them.

no one said they are any more or any less black. I'm trying to understand if this song is a Pro-Black song and if so what is the significance of getting these people on the track vs anyone else or even herself and what they and this song as a whole contribute to the current climate of blackness.
Or are we not allowed to inquire and must accept everything on its face as it is?
