they just slapped Beyonce on an old house beat and people are amazed lmao

and wtf are these lyrics from her:

And I just quit my job
I’m gonna find new drive
Damn they work me so damn hard
Work by nine
Then off past five
And they work my nerves
That’s why I cannot sleep at night

Was going to make a post in that other bey thread about her releasing an album at the end of july and said she midas whale put out a house album...

Didn't hit enter on my post because i didn't think it would happen (and this was just a day or two before the release of drizzy's joint last week).

This is as mainstream as real house will ever get.

.
This is "real house" to you?

Yall are really exposing yourselves

say this here Beyonce is more of a trend hopper than Hov :hubie:

song is simpleton shyt, nothing nice really.

Ppl keep saying this and I don't get this perspective. There's been so many times where she took "L's" by doing different shyt. Like when all the mainstream R&B folks were doing EDM she released an R&B album and really got slammed for it.

Like this House song?? House is not mainstream in the US right now. Disco/Neo-Disco and 80s funk?? Absolutely, see Dua Lipa but even there Beyoncé predates their work

Using 80s Pop Elements ala' Dawn FM?? See Schoolin' Life, 2011

She always pulled hip hop elements in her R&B(many ppl of the 00s did) but she was rapping herself years before the other women
✂️ Rap verse

Pulling in afro pop/afro beat elements into her music?? See End of Time and Grown Women from 2011 and 2013. The girl has a whole Fela Kuti inspired album some of her fans been begging for since 2011.

Ppl hear Beyoncé singles and think they know the catalogue and they don't. Even all that said adapting to musical environment is important. Mariah isn't leaving the 90s as an Icon without switching from the early pop ballads to more R&B focused music and her label finally allowing her to fully embrace Hip Hop.
