That was my fave album of hers as well, followed by DIL. And it’s why I can’t stand her talk singing, rapping and being completely ignorant on tracks when I have an album sitting here that shows what she’s capable of

She also led with two of her worst lead singles to date: "Run The World" and "Best Thing I Never Had". The songs @HARLEM AL listed are all dope though. Those were the highlights.

Best thing was a good song. Run the world was terrible tho

That’s good. It’s dance/house album, and Bey, while still popular based of the depth of her fanbase, ain’t in her prime no more. I can see even a lot of her fans spinning this once or twice but only continuing to play the more purely r&b sounding songs vs the house stuff

This is my take as well . The songs I love I truly love I keep playing them . They all r&b sounding ones .

It's so funny seeing the love that 4 gets today because ppl shytted on that album when it was released. Said it was boring because it had ballads on it while a lot of the bigger R&B singers were heavy into the EDM sound then.

Now ppl(not speaking on you, just in general)want her to go back to that.

Yea you see ppl still saying it's boring. I prefer ppl who can sing so a project like 4 would never be boring to me. With EIL and The Gift they're underrated projects and I think they will age like wine.

there's nothing boring about that album, the songs themselves are good (the writing), the production is good, her vocals are good. now if you wanna say it didn't have enough dance/party/girl anthem songs like bday and sasha firece, cool, but not being an album for the clubs doesn't equal boring...wtf.

Not something I'll bump but everything from Break My Soul to Summer Renaissance was good. All of the cussing threw me off but overall I was feeling the House and Bounce influence

My girl played it in the car. Some of the raunchiness definitely doesn't feel authentic. Feels like pandering.

Sonically it sounds well produced & she really shines with her vocals. Very good vocal arrangements as well. Vast difference compared to the current gen of female r&b singers.

Some of the lyrics is a bit too excessive with the cursing & rambling. & who's uncle Johnny???

Overall it's an enjoyable listen. I might run it back on headphones to catch more of the sound. It's cool.

The album is good BUT I feel like there are quite a few songs where you can really tell that she didn't write them. I know she always has writers but this album felt like you could really feel she didn't write many of these lyrics

That’s how I’m defining boring when it comes to mainstream music

It’s probably my favorite Beyoncé album. Self titled is just flawless(pun intended)tho
