OK just finished my first session and the game is amazing to me. i love it. it doesn't start off slow as much as it starts off by telling you a story out of order. the story constantly jumps around to different moments in her life and they moments don't seem to be in any relevant order. its funny because if you exit the game and look at the chapters list it actually organizes the events you played an in chronological order. it also seems like here you're being told a story and you go get chances to determine how some things play out but so far nothing major. of course i'm pretty early into it so i expect major choices could come later.

this is a game for people that like storytelling in games over gameplay. your enjoyment of it is solely based on if you like the characters and story. basically if you liked Heavy Rain this is for you reviews be damned. if you weren't into Heavy Rain you don't wanna even bother with this. i don't regret buying it cause i like this type of stuff buy for the majority this is a weekend rental.

Ive never seen a soap opera this good, friend.

There is a scene where the girl goes to a birthday party and some kids tease her. You have the option to lock them in a room and cause events that lead to the house burning down and someone taking being stabbed. This is not a kids game. There is also another scene where you deal with a group of men in a bar trying to rape her. This game is action packed, friend.

I already experienced playing as a little girl that doesn't take no shyt, her name is Ellie and she didn't need super powers to stop grown men from raping and killing her. Plus everything in Last of Us in interactive. B2S is a huge mini-game. In the fight scenes you have to press the analogs and buttons in sequence with her movements, that's not wavy may man.

Listen I'm not doubting the block buster potential of the story itself, the game does look gorgeous and it is interesting but they should have just made it into a tv series or a 2 part movie.

Nobody likes waving controllers, press analogs up down left right diagonal blah blah, hold these shoulder buttons then press square, blah blah, that isn't dynamic action, it's like directing a cut-scene whenever the action pops off.

Eurogamer gave this 6/10 whilst Rev3 gave it 5 stars. :patrice:And it's sitting on 73 at metacritic. I guess it's a game checking out.

If i liked Heavy Rain do you think i will enjoy this too?

Cool so I can skip it

Maybe I'll watch that stream though.
I think you will like this game more than heavy rain.

its more of a "game", but I think the start was a little annoying. It really picks up after that first slow hour though

if it wasn't for The Last Of Us, this would be the best console exclusive this year.

Also about the reviews, while I think heavy rain was a better overall project I think this game is getting criticized for things people gave heavy rain a pass on.

yeah i checked the reviews out on IGN and the 6/10 did scare me off a bit. I really liked heavy rain, and even indigo prophecy, So more than likely I'll pick it up. But i'd rather wait till the price drops though.
